Marina was born in Antioch during the reign of Emperor Claudus when Chreistianity was increasing but was still persecuted. Her mother died giving birth to her. Her father was a pagan priest and put her in the charge of another woman that was a Christian. As she matured her love for the Savior grew as well. A Roman official was attracted to her and desired the have her. She refused him and he had her charged with treason and arrested. She was later tortured and martyred.
